Honda CRF150 Recall

The following product safety recall was issued by federal safety investigators at CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed.


Name of Product: Honda Off-Road Competition Motorcycles


Units: About 13,000


Manufacturer: American Honda Motor Co. Inc., of Torrance, Calif.


Hazard: The weld on the right side of the swing arm can fail, causing the rider to lose control and crash. This could pose a risk of injury or death to riders.


Incidents/Injuries: Honda has received two reports of swing arms cracking. No injuries have been reported.


Description: This recall involves model year 2007 Honda CRF150 R RB and 2008 Honda CRF150R/RB motocross competition motorcycles.

Sold by: Honda motorcycle dealers nationwide from September 2006 through October 2008 for between $4,300 and $4,400.


Manufactured in: Japan


Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled off-road motorcycles and contact any Honda dealer to schedule a free repair.
