Fushin USA Recalls Youth Model ATVs Due to Risk of Injury to Young Riders

The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Product Involved: Fushin ATVs
Units: About 650

Distributor: Fushin USA LLC, of Dallas, Texas

Hazard: These ATVs lack front brakes, a tire pressure gauge, and padding to cover the sharp edges on the handlebar assembly, which could pose a risk of injury to young riders.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: This recall involves FXSA 002A-90cc. The size 90cc youth ATV comes in a variety of colors such as black, red, blue, yellow, green, pink, tan camo, blue camo, army camo, green camo leaf camo, pink camo and yellow/black.

Sold by: Fushin dealerships and online nationwide from October 2005 through May 2006 for between $250 and $350.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using them immediately and contact their local dealer to schedule a free repair.

Summary: HONDA IS RECALLING 12,894 Model Year 2008 CBR1000RR motorcycles. A COOLANT HOSE CLAMP LOCATED ON THE WATER PUMP COVER MAY BREAK DUE TO FATIGUE CAUSED BY VIBRATION GENERATED AT CONTINUOUS HIGH ENGINE SPEEDS.

Consequence: IF THE CLAMP BREAKS, HOT COOLANT CAN SPRAY ONTO THE RIDERS LEFT LOWER LEG CAUSING SCALDING TO THE RIDER.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL THE NEW COOLANT HOSE CLAMP.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FRONT BRAKE LINE AND ITS ROUTING. A RETAINER WILL BE INSTALLED ON THE SCOOTER WITHOUT RETAINERS. BRAKE LINES THAT HAVE BEEN RUBBED BY THE FRONT TIRE WILL BE REPLACED.

Yamaha Rhino 450 Recall, Yamaha Rhino 660 Recall

This unofficial word just in:

Yamaha Motor Corp. issued a recall of more than 120,000 Yahama Rhino ATVs today. All Rhino 450 and 660 model vehicles are being recalled for repairs intended to prevent accidents that have resulted in 46 confirmed deaths and hundreds of injuries. These Yamaha Rhinos suffer from inherent design flaws that make them unstable and susceptible to low-speed rollovers.

Official notice from federal safety investigators is expected to follow. For now, if you've got a dangerous Yamaha all terrain vehicle, be careful. Life is too short to put up with a bad Atv.

IN THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM THERE ARE HOSES CONNECTING THE FUEL TANK TO THE CHARCOAL CANISTER THROUGH WHICH THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION PASSES. IT HAS SHOWN THAT THE EMISSION HOSES TO THE CANISTER WERE PINCHED AND/OR CRIMPED. IN OTHER CASES THE HOSES IN AND OUT OF THE CHARCOAL CANISTER WERE INSTALLED BACKWARDS, THE ROLL OVER VALVE FOR THE FUEL TANK WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, AND IN OTHER CASES THERE WAS DIRT IN THE CARBURETOR AND STILL OTHERS HAD FAULTY FLOAT VALVES IN THE CARBURETOR.
Consequence: THE ENGINE MAY FLOOD WITH FUEL CAUSING DIFFICULTY IN STARTING AND THE POSSIBILITY OF STALLING. IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE FOR FUEL TO LEAK FROM THE CARBURETOR ONTO THE GROUND. FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL DOUBLE CHECK THE INSTALLATION OF THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEMS HOSES AND COMPONENTS TO WILL ENSURE THAT THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS. THE EMISSION SYSTEM HOSE WILL BE RE-ROUTED AND THE INSTALLATION OF ONE WAY VALVES

Sold by: Honda motorcycle dealers nationwide from September 2006 through October 2008 for between $4,300 and $4,400.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled off-road motorcycles and contact any Honda dealer to schedule a free repair.

Razor Recall

30,000 Razor Dirt Quad Electric Powered Ride On Vehicles have been recalled by US federal safety agency.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

The 4 wheeled ride-on vehicles were imported by Razor USA LLC, of Cerritos, California from China.

Federal safety officials say the hazard is a control module for the throttle that can fail and cause the electric ride-on vehicle to unexpectedly surge forward, posing a risk of injury to the user or a bystander.

There have been 60 reports of the vehicles unexpectedly surging forward, including two reports of injuries, according to CSPA reports.

This recall involves Razor® Dirt Quad electrically powered ride-on vehicles. Product ID numbers included in the recall begin with 103110-01 or 103110-02. The product ID numbers are located on the bar code affixed to the right step of the vehicle, on the charger and on the retail packaging. Product ID numbers beginning with 103110-03 or later are not included in this recall.

The recalled four wheel recalled vehicles were sold by authorized dealers nationwide from August 2006 through September 2007 for about $400.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the product and contact Razor for a free replacement controller.

BRP U.S. Inc. Recalls Youth All Terrain Vehicles Due to Collision Hazard

Products: Model Year 2008-2009 Can-Am® Youth ATVs

Manufacturer: Vietnam Precision Industrial Co., of Vietnam

Hazard: If the rider is ejected and the cord strap is pulled, the shutoff switch can fail to disable the engine. The ATV can operate uncontrolled, until the engine returns to idle, and cause a collision with bystanders, vehicles or other objects. This poses a serious risk of injury.

Description: The recall involves Model Year 2008-2009 Can-Am® DS 90 X ATVs. The model name can be located on the side panels. The ATV is black with yellow and orange trim.

Sold at: Authorized Can-Am® dealers nationwide from August 2007 through September 2008 for about $3,400.

Manufactured in: Vietnam

Remedy: Parents should stop children from using these vehicles immediately and contact any Can-Am® dealer.
